De Heus Vietnam starts construction of 5th feed mill
Last month De Heus started construction of its newest feed mill in Vinh Phuc, its fifth in Vietnam.
The feed mill located is located in Binh Xuyen industrial zone, Vinh Phuc, approximately 50 km away from Hanoi, a strategic location situated near key livestock areas, enabling De Heus to better serve customers in the north.
This is the fifth factory of De Heus in Vietnam and the second factory of De Heus in the north after Hai Phong factory.
De Heus is a top-ten animal feed producer in Vietnam with an output of 385,000 tonnes last year. The company is trying to make it into the top five producers in the near future, and plans to build two additional factories in Vietnam by the end of 2015, bringing its total number of production centres in the country to seven.
With a total investment capital of US$30 million, the Vinh Phuc plant is built for a high degree of automation and high quality throughput. It is expected to reach a first phase capacity exceeding 150,000 tonnes per year. The plant will produce feed for pigs, poultry, cattle and aquaculture.
De Heus Vietnam belongs to De Heus Group- a Dutch multinational corporation specialising in the manufacture of animal feed, with exports to over 50 countries around the world.
Established in Vietnam in the end of 2008, De Heus acquired two factories in Binh Duong and Hai Phong. De Heus continues to participate in the aquatic feed market with the strategic decision to buy aquatic plants in Vinh Long.
"Currently De Heus''s animal feed products are mainly sold in the south of Vietnam and exported to Cambodia, Myanmar and the Philippines. The factory in Vinh Phuc is to expand the consumption of De Heus products in the north of Vietnam," said Gabor Fluit, De Heus Vietnam''s general director.
He added, "Our difference from others lies in our product quality and management method. We not only sell animal feed, but also support farmers with animal raising techniques."
